چکیده

The concept of Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) describes a technology-enabled shared mobility service that has flexible operating schedule and/or provides virtual stops routes. While these on-demand services are not new, the developments in communication and tracking technology (vehicle positioning systems) have revived past decade. benefits adopting demand responsive transport for intra-community FLM travel needs widely accepted, but there is still cautious approach towards their implementation due to failure many promising schemes past. This article 1) creates an overview various introduced across world, understand factors may contributed 2) identifies progress made sustainable ventures through analysis global case studies 3) flexibility vehicle deployment technologies sphere. A bibliometric analysis, where top keywords were further categorised using VOSviewer’s default clustering algorithm, highlighted importance sustainability ventures. By ventures, it can be concluded environmentally achieved adoption electric autonomous vehicles services, by reducing mileage adjusting length route. study concludes reviewing existing research gaps regarding performance expectation, recommending policy practice implications, based on Bus-on-Demand Dubai, UAE.

The demand responsive transport services: Italian approach

The dial-services are an excellent connection between classical forms of collective and private transport; they are the answer to the development of transport demand from homogeneous travels (homeloffice, homelfactory, home/school in limited areas and periods) to not homogeneous travels (short continuous travels toward many different destinations); they are also the answer to the growing need o...

Towards Sustainable Urban Transportation Case Studies

Climate change is one of the greatest environmental, economic, and social challenges of our time. Urban transportation has had a major negative impact on our environment—most of our air pollution comes from transport. This paper explores ways to move toward a more sustainable transport system by focusing on creating a more efficient and livable city and improving the environmental efficiency of...

A demand-responsive decision support system for coal transportation

In this paper, a demand-responsive decision support system is proposed by integrating the operations of coal shipment, coal stockpiles and coal railing within a whole system. A generic and flexible scheduling optimisation methodology is developed to identify, represent, model, solve and analyse the coal transport problem in a standard and convenient way. As a result, the integrated train-stockp...

Towards a specification of a framework for sustainable transportation analysis

This paper reports on the first stages of our work to build an integrated decision-support tool to analyse sustainable transportation systems. A preliminary description of the application domain is presented and some modelling issues are discussed. An artificial transportation framework is conceptualized on the basis of three important subsystems, namely the real world, the virtual domain and t...
